Congratulations to “Los Folkloristas” for their 50th anniversary, celebrating with a major gala performance at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. The sold-out performance was also simulcast on the internet and live on a mega-screen outside the Palacio and at other locations around the country. Now that’s impressive work!
Founded in 1966, the group has performed all over the world and recorded dozens of releases of Latin American folk music. They also provided the soundtracks for several films including the award winning “El Norte” and “Mi Familia-My Family”. Many former members were in attendance including several founding members of the 1966 group. “Los Folkloristas” also toured around Mexico performing at major venues including Morelia, Xalapa, Puebla, Tlatelolco, Zacatecas, and Cuernavaca.
We salute the group for this monumental accomplishment. Felicidades!
